Editorial and Corrections Policy

Editorial Principles

Our editorial approach rests on a small number of principles:

• Accuracy — claims should be correct and well-supported.
• Clarity — writing should be understandable to a professional, non-specialist reader.
• Source transparency — readers should be able to see what a claim is based on.
• Independence — conclusions are not shaped by commercial pressure.
• Proportionality — the strength of a claim should match the strength of its evidence.
• Fair representation of uncertainty — where evidence is thin, mixed, or incomplete, we say so rather than present false confidence.

Corrections, Clarifications, and Updates

We distinguish three kinds of change to published material:

• Correction — a material factual error is identified and fixed.
• Clarification — the underlying content was technically accurate, but wording is improved because it could mislead or be misunderstood.
• Update — new information is incorporated as it becomes available, without implying that an earlier version was wrong at the time it was published.

How to Submit a Request

If you believe something we've published needs correcting, clarifying, or updating, email us at hello@africainvestmentintelligence.com. To help us assess your request quickly, please include:

• the page URL;
• the specific statement in question;
• an explanation of your concern; and
• supporting primary or authoritative material, where available.

We do not need any personal information beyond what's necessary to respond to you.

Assessment Process

Every request is assessed against the underlying sources, the surrounding context, how material the issue is, and editorial judgment. We are a small, growing research team, so we cannot commit to a fixed response time — but every request is reviewed.

Correction Notices and Dates

A material correction may result in an updated date on the affected page and, where appropriate, a visible note describing what changed. Not every routine update — for example, refreshing a figure as newer data becomes available — receives a separate formal notice.

Editorial Independence

We do not accept payment in exchange for favorable coverage, and commercial relationships do not determine our research conclusions. Submitting a correction, clarification, or update request does not guarantee that the change will be made — legitimate analysis and editorial judgment are preserved throughout our review.

Conflicts of Interest

Where a material conflict of interest is identified — for example, in connection with an external reviewer or contributor — it is disclosed and managed appropriately as part of our editorial process.
